A $300 benefit will be paid to a covered member upon the birth or adoption of a child* either to the employee or the wife of the employee.  In order to receive payment you must be an eligible member of the Fund on the date of birth or adoption of the child*

Members who give birth while on maternity leave and who would otherwise have been eligible for benefits had active employment continued, will be covered for the maternity benefit.

*Adoption proceedings must be commenced prior to the child reaching age 3.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE BENEFIT:

Simply mail the Fund a copy of the child's birth or adoption certificate and the benefit will be paid.
