The SOA is pleased to announce the 2019 scholarship awards applications are now being accepted!
You can apply for up to 3 different scholarships for your high school and college students, with a total of 16 scholarships to be awarded. Please review the individual eligibility requirements and restrictions on each form and follow the instructions carefully as they vary. Remember to mail each application timely so that it is received by the date listed to the address provided on it. Late or incomplete applications will not be entered in the drawing. Past winners are not eligible. The winners for the SOA and NY LEF scholarships will be drawn at the June 12th open meeting and then posted on the website and the winners will also be contacted via mail. The Police Reserves will draw their winners and then notify both the SOA and the recipients around that date as well.
This year we are introducing a new type of scholarship award: The “SOA Benefactor Award”. This is due to the generosity of SOA member, retired Sergeant John T. Johnson, in memory of his dad, NYPD Police Officer Herbert F. Johnson. This award will be drawn from the SOA scholarship applicants as outlined below.
Good luck to all our applicants!
